This is a great topic for the rant tribe.....

However, stupid people are a growing trend in our society and by definition, it is becoming a serious plague on our society.
I believe there are two causes. One is TV and the other os the way society has been babied for the past 45-50 years.
In the 40's and 50's, you did not have to tell somebody that coffee was hot, that the floor is slippery when wet, and that you should not stand on the edge of a subway platform when the train is coming.... If you did, "SPLAT" and your gene pool was eliminated. In the large picture, humanity triumphed because there was one less moron contaminating the world. This way, humanity was consistently strengthened kind of like herds of caribou were strengthened by predators that killed the sick and weak.
But today, we cater more and more to morons. We make sure that everything is stupid proof and still the smart people like me and you fail to cover all imaginable angles. We then protect those same morons and beat ourselves up for not covering all the angles.

In response to your question, I think we should pool all stupid people on an island like Australia. (After all we need something big since 75 % of humanity is below standards). We then leave them there for 15-20 years and then go back to fetch them. The ones that survived without all those signs, warnings, etc... will have been suitably adapted to our way of living, while the ones that were too stupid probably died off, thus strengthening the herd of humanity once again.
